Sailors Grave

Another magical spot on the Coromandel Peninsula is Sailors Grave, so called as a sailor drowned there in the 1800s. The grave is now looked after by the NZ Navy. The full story is here:

At times the surf rolls in, and others, as when we visited, the sea was quiet with children playing in the estuary outlet…

During a recent visit to Martinborough, in NZ’s wonderful South Wairarapa, we took the fully escorted Murdoch James Grape to Glass Wine Tour. With accompanying wine tasting we walked the vines, visited the winery, and ended up in the barrel caves .I so recommend this to everyone, from novice to experienced, it is such a fun and informative way to spend an afternoon.

So the school work is all finished for the Midyear break, and we went a way for a short break to Matapouri and stayed in an amazing Coastal Holiday Home…the views and walks were amazing.

Australia’s second biggest bird of prey. Being a sea eagle he is not a true scientific eagle but really a giant kite.
